WEEK7

So this was our last class before 8th week review and by next week we had to make our final video. So we had to bring the audios today that we were going to add in the video.

So I had 3 to 4 audios that I had to add in the video. So when I started I had to re-fit the audios too many times because it wasn’t syncing with the video or sometimes it wasn’t sounding good, but I kept on trying and managed to make a video. Also I learnt a few techniques from online to fade the audio begin another one, I liked that element and have that in my video. So I still had to make some small changes as per ma’am and make it ready for the review.

WEEK6

So I checked the sites that ma’am had given to fin the videos filling the gap, I found whatever I wanted and got them in the class today . So today we had to start making the actual final video that contained  the pictures and the videos. So I made my video on Adobe Premiere Pro, which I had never used nor had I ever made a video like this so everything was new for me. But some of my classmates helped me to at least know the beginning so that I can carry on ahead. Some I checked online if I got stuck in anything while making the video.

Ma’am asked us to make only video without the audio and show it to her. Once I was done, there were some changes to be made but I made a basic video that I wanted.

It was really difficult to learn the whole new software, but what all it could help in was really amazing. So for the next class we had to bring the audios that we were going to incorporate with the basic video that we had made.

WEEK5

So today was our review for whatever work that we had done till now ,that is the pictures that we took for our narrative. I was really happy with my pictures and how it formed my narrative that I wanted to show. When ma’am was taking the review she removed some of the photos from the set of pictures that we took. Everyone’s pictures were disrupted and we all were confused as to why this was done.

After that ma’am sent us a link called https://videos.pexels.com and https://archive.org/details/prelinger. Then she told us that we need to find videos that will fill the spaces of the pictures that were taken out and a video have to be made. I was really confused at the beginning but then I understood that we make a video with the existing pictures and add videos and audios in between the picture that forms our narrative. It felt difficult but interesting. So in the next class ma’am asked us to find videos that would fill the gap of the removed pictures.

WEEK5

So today we had to do a presentation on our given topics to the respective groups. We all presented and then other group members had to grade us and vice-versa. It was a really fun class because of the way everyone presented their work.

Also we had to do an a survey regarding our topic in the college itself and then come back and do an class survey too. It was a great start towards the project. We started to know things better as a group.

WEEK6

This is what I tried to write about my dream or the city that we had to imagine keeping Mumbai in mind:

 The city can be called like a piece of beautiful chaos. And with all this confusion a person wanders into this mess with no idea what he’s gonna get into, but just be prepared to get lost in the streets that lead somewhere that is not just about the people living there but how the city lives within itself.

City that has so much more to offer than just its energetic vibes. The colours so vibrant and dull just like the emotions and nature of the people that live here. With the people changing just like the sky changes its colour here.

Everything is unpredictable yet the city full of voices and screams still somehow gives you comfort just like the calming waves at the shore when the day ends just to start another one of totally unexpected things you find here.

And also started making some sketches based on this essay to move forward to making of tunnel box.

WEEK2

So todays class started and ended with a movie. We saw this movie called “AMELIE”, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. This movie is about the girl named Amelie who lives in Paris and how she was misdiagnosed with a heart condition and so never went to school and spent her childhood at her home, which created her own imagination and fantasy land. And how she helps the people around her and finally finds her love.

I felt that it was an unusual but an interesting movie. And so we ended the lecture with the movie. After this movie was done ma’am asked us to bring 6 photographs of our city which forms a narrative.

And as always the seminar class is taken forward in the studio class and we have been reading the book “Invisible Cities”, so our assignment was to bring 15 sketches or thumbnails of 5 cities and 3 of each city in an abstract form. The chapters from the book were really difficult to understand but I thought it might be equally interesting to make them in form of sketches.

WEEK3

So today we discussed about the “Sumer Civilization” and no one could find out where they had come from or how they emerged out of nowhere. “Wheel was invented in Sumer. There were various reasons for the invention of wheel i.e, agriculture, transport, convenience.

Then we moved on to “Indus Valley Civilization”, that just disappeared, and there were various theories of what could have happened, like:

  • Threat of invasion
  • Sacred
  • Plague
  • Natural disaster

But there was no theory of war because there were no bodies found in that region.

Then ma’am told us about the first epic that was recorded, “The Epic Of Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh was a ‘Demigod’. He was during the Mesopotamian region. He was the ruler of “URUK” which was the first state of Mesopotamia.

The people of sumer believed in a lot of gods and goddess like, AN, Enki, Inana, Sin, Utu, etc. There was spirituality , Belief in god, and also leadership in this civilization.

Nature was the top most and then came the Gods, and then Kings and at the end Priests.
