WEEK6

Today we had class on perspectives which is a very important topic in drawing. Perspective Drawing is a technique used by artists and designers to represent three-dimensional images on a two-dimensional picture plane.

There are three types of perspective in drawing; one point perspective, two point perspective, and three point perspective, a bird’s eye view, and a worm’s eye view.

So we had to do perspective drawing today and draw buildings and other surroundings around us in any type of the perspective.

WEEK3

As I said before it was really a tough job to make 25 sketches and it was true because most of us could not complete the assignment. So Sir gave us few more time to complete our assignment and we had to rush down and started making sketches.

So once we came back Sir asked one of us to become model and others had to sketch him/her. It was quite interesting. I tried my best but I was not able to make good sketches an proportions mattered and shading was also important.

But I tried my best to make my classmates look good in my sketches as was a bit difficult to get everything right.                                                                                                                    But this practice of doing things again and again will only help me to grow and so we went on making the sketches and practicing more.

WEEK2

So today Sir asked us to do Live Sketches, he told us to go on streets and draw whatever we liked. It was basically doodle and not proper drawings.

It was actually unusual and we were on the streets with book and pencils in our hands. It was actually difficult because I had never done live sketching before so it was more difficult because every time I wanted to draw a human figure he/she moved the angle changed.

So it was a totally different experience for me and I knew that this is not going to be easy but I’m going to do it.

So we came back with our sketches and then Sir gave us assignments to make 25 sketches and bring in the next class and that was a big task to complete it in a week!

WEEK1

Drawing is putting a line around and idea”

But Anando sir says “You need to learn to doodle before you understand how to draw“.

First sir asked us to draw whatever we like in the sketch book, and all of us drew what we were best at doing. After that sir explained that we need to do sketches that we don’t know or that we haven’t tried before. That will make us skilled and improve our sketches. Then he wanted us to paint with ink on the paper. He asked us to randomly paint anything we want without giving it a defined line or a border .Just to draw a rough sketch.

So we took out our paint brushes and started painting with the ink like crazy on the paper. Well, I spill the ink two times in the entire lecture just as a kid would do and exactly how sir wanted us to be;) .Sir asked us to make sketches that was just as rough as the sketches/drawings we used to make as a kid behind the maths notebook when lecture got boring!!

He just wanted us to be as immature as a we were when we first started drawing.

So after lot of thinking and ink wasting we finally got something as good as sir wanted us to do. Rough sketches/doodles was all sir was looking for.

The day ended with lot of ink here and there and even more sheets with ink on it with all the possible creativity that could have been done in our classroom.

For the next weeks lecture sir wanted us to go outside and do some live sketching keeping everything he said about how he wanted us to do “doodles” and not lines .And we could bring as many sketches as possible.

And we all left the classroom thinking about where we could go for our live sketching.
